And, in addition to dozens of specialty retailers, this year we added grocery store, pharmacy, and convenience store brands. In fact, we more than doubled our customers in 2020.

At Zipline, our customers rely on Zipline as their retail operating system. It is the heart of their operations infrastructure. Our engineers ensure that our application systems are scalable, available and efficient. We are looking to hire our first ever DevOps engineer, working along with our developers to help us ensure we have the best delivery, monitoring and alerting processes and tools, and to help us improve in all of those areas. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments, ensuring maximum efficiency
  • Increase the sophistication of our monitoring, alerting and escalation mechanisms
  • Support and work alongside cross-functional engineering teams on the latest technologies
  • Iterate on best practices to increase the quality & velocity of deployments
  • Help increase system performance with a focus on high availability and scalability
  • Continuously evaluate existing systems with industry standards, and advocate for improvements
  • Have on-call responsibilities in rotation with the engineering team

You’ll love this job if you have:

  • Experience with delivery of a SaaS product
  • Experience maintaining and deploying highly-available, fault-tolerant systems at scale
  • A drive towards automating repetitive tasks (e.g. scripting via Bash, Python, Ruby, etc)
  • Expertise with AWS (e.g. IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, ALB, Autoscaling, Lambda)
  • Experience with PaaS (Heroku)
  • Experience with Google Cloud (BigQuery, GKE)
  • Version control system experience (e.g. Git)
  • Experience implementing CI/CD (CircleCI)
  • Operational (e.g. HA/Backups) NoSQL experience (e.g. Redis)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)

How do we work? Remotely. We have been 100% remote since the company was founded and we have it down to a science - - a people science. We huddle as a team weekly and as a company 3 times a week. On Fridays, we come together to learn from each other. One week it might be about opossum rescue. Another week it might be an update on our product roadmap or the results of our customer satisfaction survey. We are all masters of Zoom and love the freedom of working from home - - or vans - - or sailboats.
