Our perfect Senior Accountant - U.S. has 3+ years experience in public practice (an accounting firm) or has broad experience working in small-medium sized growing companies. The Senior Accountant - U.S. will be responsible for the execution of day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including managing AP, AR, Payroll, reconciliations, and reporting, among others. The key responsibilities of a Senior Accountant - U.S. include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Sales Tax filings.
  • Supporting the payroll function with state registrations and related tax filings.
  • Participate in the monthly closing processes.
  • Maintain records and monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc financial reports.
  • Implement internal controls to mitigate risk, and enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Document all processes as requested and keep the documentation current.
  • Receive and process incoming mail.
  • Provide direct support to the Director of Finance & CFO as needed throughout the year.


  • 3+ years of professional full-cycle accounting experience
  • Excellent working knowledge in US Payroll and Sales Tax
  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or sign-on-the-job experience in accounting
  • Detailed oriented
  • Diligent to figure things out and carry projects through to the end
  • Highly responsive to colleagues and pressing business needs
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and dedicated.
  • Outstanding listening and writing skills, and a keen ability to translate complex concepts into simple, persuasive language.
  • Team player with excellent collaboration skills to build relationships across the company with both ours as well as our customers.


  • CPA license (or working towards it)
  • Experience in a SaaS company
  • Experience in the tools we use:
    • Accounting: Xero, QBO, Excel and
    • Payroll/HR: Gusto, BambooHR, and
    • Communication: Zoom, Slack, and Basecamp
    • Other: Brex & Carta

How do we work? Remotely. We have been 100% remote since the company was founded and we have it down to a science - - a people science. We huddle as a team weekly and as a company 3 times a week. On Fridays, we come together to learn from each other. One week it might be about opossum rescue. Another week it might be an update on our product roadmap or the results of our customer satisfaction survey. We are all masters of Zoom and love the freedom of working from home - - or vans - - or sailboats.
